I had the opportunity to work for Hennessy and Royal Post in order to realize the art direction as well as the animation on scenes for a campaign for the Hennessy Paradis Imperial directed by Romain Cieutat. This Cognac had to be shown in all its complexity with an approach that had to be both technological and organic.

It was a challenge and an incredible opportunity to experiment around the themes of sight and smell with a desire to restore the subtlety and refinement of one of Hennessy's rarest Cognacs.

I sincerely thank Royal Post, Partizan and Romain Cieutat for this collaboration.

Below are shots that were not used for the final campaign

This project allowed me to work on the whole pipeline from the early concepts and art direction to the motion tracking, animation and post production.

I used Cinema 4D, Illustrator and Photoshop in the early stage of the art direction to create many style frames to find in which path Hennessy wished to go. Once we agreed on the design to follow, I moved to Cinema 4D to perform motion tracking, I used the assets created in the early stage with Illustrator directly into Cinema 4D to create all my animations.

Finally, I used Vray to render my animations and After Effects to realize my post production. Some scenes were real challenges, like the one with the moving liquid which demanded a true reflexion to deal with it and find a way to create a grid that followed the cognac's mouvements.
